Shirley's assemblages have such a charm which is due not only to her sculpting but the patterns she impresses in the clay, the extra details and the soft colour palette which evoke the coast. You can't help but smile when you see her work.

Artist Bio: Shirley Vauvelle
An established mixed media artist, inspired by time or wave worn surfaces of the materials she collects from the coastal shores near her home in North Yorkshire. Shirley hand builds components in various clays. The surfaces are textured and coloured spontaneously, each piece totally unique. She assembles small sculptures that are playful, mindful of placement and space. Her work is collected in the UK and around the world. Her home and studio have been featured in several publications including The Sunday Observer
