Collection: Virginia Dowe

When Virginia was little, she had a big tub of plasticine which she loved to model into all sorts of creatures, but especially dogs.
After completing a degree in Ceramics at Wolverhampton university in 1997 she turned her childhood passion into a career.
Virginia uses extruded tubes of clay that are cut, torn and joined together to form her dogs. She loves how the tilt of an ear or eyebrow can transform the dog’s expression. They are finished using smoke firing techniques, resulting in each piece being entirely unique.
