Having seen Glassblowing as a ten year old at Dartington Crystal, Thomas decided that that would be interesting to try & went on a brief course with Norman Stuart-Clarke, who lived in Cornwall at the time. After working with other glassblowers and following Higher Education at Sunderland University & Brierley Hill he got his first real job at London Glassblowing Workshop in Rotherhithe, East London & later at The Leather Market. It was here working with such a diverse group of Artist’s that he learnt the majority of his techniques. He has been a full-time Glass Artist since 2016.
All pieces are made & finished solely by Tom. Each stoppered bottle has an individually made stopper, which is ground by hand to fit that bottle alone. In some cases, pieces are sandblasted, as with the “Sea Shore” collection shown here. If the sandblasted pieces should lose their sheen, he suggests buffing them with a cotton cloth (not a duster) and a very little baby oil (use sparingly).
