Sue Bown lives beside the River Dart in Dartmouth. It is here she gains inspiration for her work. Boats on the river, tracks in the water, colour, shapes, light and movement. Much of her work created en plein air to maximise this sensory observation of the environment.
Sue works in acrylics, oils, spray paints, ink and charcoal; frequently a mix of them all. She uses materials in an expressive manner to convey the notion of energy, layering these to create texture and depth. She is currently pursuing an investigation into print making and combining this into her art practice.
