Collection: Angus Wood

Angus was awarded a showcase at Baxters after Sarah Duggan the owner selected him from all the exhibitors at The Craft Festival at Bovey Tracey in 2024.

Since starting up his own business Angus has focused primarily on creating a range of functional, elegant and eye-catching home and kitchen ware products, utilising mixed metals and materials. The types of metal he chooses to use are critical in his designs as each one has varying properties to take advantage of. For example, on a scoop he will use stainless steel for its corrosion resistant properties on the handle and copper on the bowl for its malleability and beautiful colour. Steel with a high carbon content would be suitable for a blade because of its ability to hold a sharp edge. 

Angus takes much of his inspiration from historic designs and processes with their simple forms and beautiful jointing methods. His designs are also greatly inspired by the fluid lines and elegance of historic French ironwork and are all created using traditional tools.
