Katie was one of the makers I showed at Baxters in my early years here and it is lovely to have her back for this show. I thought her work fitted the theme perfectly and I have always loved the detail she brings to her pieces - including inside them. I may have a few at home, (I do).

Artist Bio: Katie Almond
Katie Almond produces unique and one-off porcelain pieces using a variety of slip casting and hand-building techniques. All incorporate her own drawings alongside found nostalgic imagery by using both hand painting and transfers, and many have the added opulence of gold lustre.
Each piece of her work is a canvas for decoration and collage as she carefully combines drawings with found, vintage ephemera. Katie is inspired by nostalgia, paper ephemera, vintage textiles and a love of drawing.
