Mark has shown at Baxters at various stages since we opened and it is wonderful to be showing a new collection of his work again. His colours and imagination are both fabulous.

Artist Bio: Mark Smith
Mark Smith’s work is based on a nostalgic representation of some of his earliest memories of the sea. From the wildlife, through to the weather-worn decay of the architecture, and the shipping industry. Old signage and weather-worn decay are key to bringing his sculptures to life.
Mark tries to put emphasis on the story-telling aspect of his work, crossing between reality and fantasy. He is also quite a natural hoarder of things and his recycle/upcycle element extends from that.
