Artist Alice Andrea Ewing makes this work under the name Pomarius collections. They are unique bronze casts produced through an adaptation of the Italian or Renaissance Lost Wax process. Each work is completely unique, a direct cast of the original fruit or vegetable. The first Pomarius works were developed during a walled garden residency. The original project sought to make explicit the value of the East Anglian estate’s gardens and their produce, the outcome of several centuries of ongoing care and dedication. Having continued to develop the project through collaborations with other gardens and gardeners, she established Pomarius as its own studio and project.
Alice Andrea Ewing continues to cast and finish the works at her studio and foundry in Suffolk alongside her broader practice as a founder-sculptor and artist.
